As part of the Young John Lewis reflection series, the DC History Center joins Mosaic Theater and DC Public Library to celebrate DC’s artistry, identity, and community. The program features musical selections from the production alongside a panel conversation with historians and activists considering the history, legacy, and future of Home Rule in the nation’s capital. Join us for this program, along with other programming throughout the day honoring the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and John Lewis.
Founded in 1894, the DC History Center deepens understanding of our city’s past to connect, empower, and inspire. As the only community-based nonprofit focused on the District’s history, our vision is to reach into all eight wards to preserve and elevate the stories of Washington’s diverse people, neighborhoods, and institutions
Mosaic Theater Company of DC produces bold, culturally diverse theater that illuminates critical issues, elevates fresh voices, and sparks connection among communities throughout our region and beyond.
The District of Columbia Public Library is a vibrant center of activity for residents and visitors in the nation’s capital. The library provides environments that invite reading, learning and community discussion and equips people to learn all their lives, to embrace diversity and to build a thriving city. We are proud to be a recognized force in the community for engaging the mind, expanding opportunities and elevating the quality of life.
