This Indigenous People’s Weekend, Washington Walks is offering a series of guided tours that bring DC’s neighborhoods and stories to life. From the bustling streets of U Street and Columbia Heights to the historic landscapes of Rock Creek Park, Georgetown, and Walter Reed, each tour invites you to experience the city’s full, complex history.
Join professional tour guide Brian Kraft for a rugged, off-road hike in the heart of the city that explores “wild” Washington. This 3.5 mile tour begins at the bustling commercial heart of DC’s Cleveland Park neighborhood, then quickly descends a small stream valley into the heart of Rock Creek Park itself. That’s when both the natural and historic features of this magnificent natural landscape will become evident, including infrastructure that predates the establishment of Rock Creek Park.
